Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026 · Governed by PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy law
1. Who We Are
Canada Home Fix(“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a home improvement company based in Southern Ontario, specializing in gutter guard supply and installation in Southern Ontario. Canada Home Fix currently operates in Canada only. We operate the website canadahomefix.ca and related web properties.
We are committed to protecting your personal information and handling it responsibly in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy law, including Quebec Law 25 where it applies.
Privacy questions and access, correction, deletion, or complaint requests are handled by our designated privacy contact at hello@canadahomefix.ca.
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal information only when it is reasonably necessary to provide our services. This includes:
Information you provide directly
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number
- Property information: civic address, property type, approximate square footage
- Project details: photos you upload, written descriptions, measurements you provide
- Communication records: messages sent through our contact form or by email
- Promotional consent choices: whether you opt in to estimate follow-up emails or text messages, when you opted in, and the consent wording version shown at the time
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring URL, approximate location from IP, timestamps, and session duration
- Cookieless analytics: aggregate page-view, normalized route, referrer-domain, and campaign-parameter information collected through Vercel Web Analytics and our own aggregate funnel access rollups without setting cookies or storing visitor IDs
- Cookies and pixels: strictly necessary storage, privacy notice and preference records, and Google Analytics or marketing identifiers unless you turn optional categories off (see Section 6)
- Advertising event data: page views, estimate progress, and lead events sent to Meta for advertising measurement and retargeting unless you turn marketing tools off
Information from third parties
- Mapping and satellite data: publicly available satellite imagery and address geocoding via Google Maps APIs, used to measure your property and generate your estimate
- Booking data: appointment details from Cal.com if you choose to schedule a visit through the booking calendar
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes, with your express or implied consent:
- Estimate generation: to analyse your property—including via satellite imagery of the property—and produce a cost estimate for gutter guard installation
- Service delivery: to schedule and complete your installation, process payment, and fulfil warranty obligations
- Arranging your estimate and visit: to contact you by phone, text, or email to discuss your project and arrange your free in-home visit. Canada Home Fix collects and holds your information for this purpose.
- Connecting you with an installer: if you proceed at your in-home visit, you will be connected with an independent installation provider who completes the supply and installation. That provider collects any information it needs directly from you, at that stage, under its own consent process and privacy policy.
- Communications: to respond to enquiries, send your estimate, provide project updates, confirm appointments, and send commercial electronic messages only where permitted by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)
- Estimate follow-ups: to send optional follow-up emails or text messages about your estimate only when you have provided the relevant consent
- Service improvement: to improve the accuracy of our estimate tool and overall customer experience
- Funnel performance measurement: to understand aggregate traffic volume, page paths, ad campaign parameters, and where visitors encounter friction, without using cookieless rollups to identify or retarget individual visitors
- Privacy preferences: to show privacy notice, remember your choices, and respect withdrawal or opt-out requests for optional analytics and marketing tools
- Advertising measurement: to measure and optimize Meta ad performance, including conversion measurement, retargeting, and similar audiences where permitted, unless you turn marketing tools off
- Legal compliance: to meet obligations under applicable law, including tax and business record-keeping requirements
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for automated profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects without your knowledge.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law. As a general guide:
- Estimate enquiries (no conversion): 24 months from the date of enquiry
- Customer records (completed projects): 7 years from project completion, to satisfy tax and business record-keeping obligations
- Photos: retained for the duration of your warranty period plus 12 months, then deleted unless you request earlier removal
- Cookie consent records: at least 3 years from the most recent consent choice
- Promotional email/SMS consent records: at least 3 years from the most recent opt-in or withdrawal record
- Analytics data: aggregated and anonymised where practical; not retained in identifiable form beyond 26 months unless a shorter third-party setting applies
You may request earlier deletion of your personal information at any time (see Section 7), subject to our legal retention obligations.
7. Your Canadian Privacy Rights
Under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy law, you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Withdrawal of consent: withdraw consent to non-essential processing at any time (note this may affect our ability to provide services)
- Unsubscribe: opt out of commercial electronic messages where CASL requires an unsubscribe option, including estimate follow-up emails or text messages
- Deletion: request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations
- Complaint: file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca if you believe we have not handled your information appropriately
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Privacy Officer at hello@canadahomefix.ca or by calling 289-778-0559. We will respond within 30 days unless Canadian law gives us a different permitted timeline.
8. Quebec Users — Law 25
If you are located in Quebec, we handle your personal information with Quebec's Law 25 requirements in mind, including transparency about purposes, consent withdrawal, privacy incident handling, and service provider disclosures.
- You may withdraw consent and request deletion, subject to legal retention limits.
- Some service providers—including Google, Meta, Cal.com, cloud hosting, email, and storage providers—may process data outside Quebec or Canada.
9. Children
Our services are intended for adult homeowners. Canada Home Fix is not directed to children, and we do not seek or want personal information from minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@canadahomefix.ca and we will remove it.
10. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) for all web traffic
- Access-controlled cloud storage with time-limited signed URLs for photos
- Role-based access controls limiting staff access to customer data
- Hashed storage of passwords; we do not store plaintext credentials
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you have reason to believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
